That's why I've turned to AI as a tool to help me unlock my full creative potential. With the help of AI, I have been able to take my art to the next level and produce work that I never thought was possible.
One way that AI has helped me is by providing me with new sources of inspiration. By analyzing vast amounts of data and identifying patterns and trends, AI has helped me discover new ideas and approaches that I may not have considered before. For example, I can use AI-powered tools to generate color palettes or suggest compositions that I might not have thought of on my own. For instance, I was imagining illustrations of what a debate between Biden and Trump would look like if they were cute monsters on stage and also if they were muppets. Here is the prompt I used to create both the Biden and Trump muppets:
"Joe Biden as a muppet, pixar fur, vray renderer --ar 9:16 --upbeta --upbeta"
The Muppet prompt was much easier since they were meant to be head shots. For Trump just change the name. All of these images were produced using MidJourney AI. The work that went into these took about ten minutes for each after I have spent over two months learning how to write prompts. The great thing about being an artist is that if I feel inspired with a piece of work it might drive me to writing a book or screen play or a poster series that I can sell. And, anything the AI doesn't generate I can finalize or redo using my own artistic skills.
AI can also assist in improving the technical aspects of my work. These tools can help enhance my work by adjusting the lighting, focus, or even removing unwanted elements from my compositions. This helps me focus more on the creative aspects of my work, while AI handles the technical details.
I am now studying photography by looking at the prompts used for a certain look or realism. I am also finally studying styles of art. In the past I didn't focus on a style of art but simply made my own painting if I liked something I had seen online. This is similar to buying a book and not bothering to learn the authors name. Wide Angle lenses are a good example which helped me with the main image. Here is the prompt I used for the monster debate:
"Cute Felt monsters in a movie scene and dramatic lighting, Donald Trump monster with long blonde pompadour and Joe Biden Monster debate on stage. 4k image, shot from a movie, cinematic composition shot, cinematic still shot, cinematic composition, cinematic, incredibly detailed, post-production, depth of field, wide angle, movie, cinematography, cinematic, color grading, professional color grading, --ar 3:2"
As you can see by the prompt it uses a number of cinematic terms. In order to get "real" looking photography the same thing is required.
Similarly, AI can help me as a writer in improving the quality of my writing. AI-powered writing tools can provide suggestions for grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as offer stylistic recommendations to make the writing more compelling and readable. Typically I used to write a story and would inevitably get stuck on the plot or character development and with ChatGPT it feels like having a coworker in the room I can ask it questions and it is incredibly helpful. Most of the time it suggests things I would have figured out much later. By automating mundane tasks like fact-checking, proofreading, and formatting, I can free up my time to focus on the more creative aspects of my work.
Overall, I believe that AI has been a game-changer for me as a creative artist. By providing me with new sources of inspiration and helping me improve my technical skills, AI has allowed me to take my art to the next level and produce work that I am truly proud of. I can't wait to see what new possibilities unlock for me in the future.
